Lemay

Lemay is a community in South St. Louis County known for its military heritage and pivotal role in westward expansion. After years of disinvestment, Lemay became the focus of a decades long, multi-faceted and community-oriented transformation. The reimagining of Lemay concluded thousands of hours of community engagement. In providing residents many ways to offer feedback, buy-in and satisfaction were possible. Apple Core Creative’s owner and founder was integral to the Lemay brand’s implementation. Leading its rollout included media outreach, video production, signage and print collateral design and website development. 

Community engagement:

• Worked collaboratively to host community events, such as: design charrettes, groundbreakings, grand openings, grantee celebrations, construction site visits, workshops, open houses, and media ops.
• Created placemaking signage to establish the brand, define the area and celebrate the community.
• Participated in community activities which drove the branding and streetscape plan. For example, local students and teachers were invited to help design an important intersection at Broadway and Ripa.
